
The San Diego Union Tribune is reporting that a man was hospitalized after he was attacked by three assailants in North Park on Tuesday night. One man reportedly pistol-whipped the victim.
Police say the incident happened on Mississippi Street just south of University.
A Samaritan heard the yells of the victim just after 9 pm and called for police.
Police were not able to give details on exactly what was taken from the man before the trio absconded in a Jeep SUV.
Police have described the person with the pistol as being African American, 6 feet and 1-inch tall, thin, with dreadlocks. He wore black pants.
One of the other men was described as white, 5 feet and 10 inches tall and blonde.
The third suspect was described only as white and 5 feet and 7 inches tall.
