Originally the accused plead not-guilty to the charges which took place in 2010.

Music teacher and band director at Bonita Vista High School, Jason Mangan-Magabilin, pleaded guilty on Thursday to two sex-related charges which stemmed from a relationship he had with a 15-year-old student between August 2010 and 2011.

The 38-year-old could be facing probation without incarceration or almost three years in prison when he goes before a judge on February 24, as a result of his guilty plea.

The teacher admits to having committed oral copulation and penetration with a foreign object.

He will also be ordered to register as a sex offender for life said Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Matzger.

Earlier this year in August, Mangan-Magabilin entered a non-guilty plea to several counts of illegal sex with the student who was 15-years-old at the time.

The victim, now 22, came forward with the accusations earlier this year to which Mangan-Magabilin turned himself in facing 13 counts of sexual contact with a minor. He posted the $325,000 bail and was released.

Just one month earlier Mangan-Magabilin, as a part of the social group Big Gay Band and Orchestra Directors Association, was involved with the San Diego Gay Pride festivities to form the first-ever San Diego Pride Youth Marching Band.

He worked with the San Diego Pride organization and the San Diego Office of Education.

The unnamed victim told authorities that he had been molested by Mangan-Magabilin at Otay Lakes Road campus when he was 15 and another time when he was 17.
